Crazy Eights

This is the second year in a row that Kaylee was sick on her actual birthday. She came down with the flu the day before her birthday, and had to skip two days of school. Her Nana Evers came to visit her on her birthday and cheer her up with some Gatorade and birthday presents. Cameron and I made her some cupcakes while she took a long nap. She recovered quickly enough to keep her birthday party on Saturday. We had planned on taking her out to dinner on her birthday but decided to wait since she didn't have her appetite back. Kaylee was able to open her presents from her family which included a homemade picture made by Cam and Legos which are her favorite. For her party the following day she invited all the girls in her class to paint pottery and have a pizza dinner. The girls really enjoyed painting the penguin pottery and were excited to bring it home. It worked went very smooth and the girls had a lot of fun.
We didn't tell Kaylee that her dad was leaving work early to meet her at her party. She was so excited to see him that she planted a big kiss on his cheek! The girls and I posing for a picture before the chaos of the party started.

Both Nanas also came to help out and enjoy the festivities.
Kaylee with the start of her painted penguin. She's a got a smile that can light up a room!

Even Cam got to invite a friend to the party, Jenna.
The party ended with ice cream cake from Dairy Queen, Kaylee's favorite! She got the biggest piece.
